PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Facial Rejuvenation, also known as the “Vampire Facelift®” or “Dracula Therapy” works on the basis that the body’s own cells slow and reverse the aging process – it is a revolutionary repair system that places growth factors in the exact location where we want the skin to repair and rejuvenate itself.
THE HEALING POWER OF PLATELETS
Platelets contain a high content of “growth factors” to heal injured tissue or damaged skin. Upon re-injection, the platelets release their growth factors which trigger surrounding cells to proliferate, in turn stimulating repair, increasing volume, and rejuvenating the skin.

PRP Facial Rejuvenation combines the application of platelet-rich plasma with hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. Your treatment begins with the collection of PRP. A sample of blood is drawn from your arm and placed in a sterilized container. The sample is spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma from the red blood cells. In this process, the platelet count is concentrated to four times the normal level. These activated growth factors derived from PRP are applied topically or by injection to the targeted area of concern for regeneration. To begin the treatment, dermal fillers are injected into different areas of your face that need more volume.
The therapy plumps up and tightens the skin through deposition of new collagen, smooths out fine lines and wrinkles, and restores a youthful appearance. As we age, we lose volume loss, but thanks to dermal fillers, there is a way to temporarily restore that volume and in doing so, restore youth. WHAT IS PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP)?
HOW IS THE PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP) COLLECTED?
Step 1: Utilizing a specialized blood collection tube, our nurse or physician will draw a small amount of blood similar to what is required for a basic lab test.
Step 2: The tube is then placed into a centrifuge which spins the blood at a very high speed, causing the platelets to separate from other components of the blood.
Step 3: Once the platelets are concentrated into the plasma, they can be applied to the treatment area. Activation causes platelets to release essential growth factors and signaling proteins, which are responsible for the healing process.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR BEFORE AND AFTER MY TREATMENT?
- Avoid excessive heat
- Temporarily stop using certain topical products (salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and other anti-aging ingredients)
- Avoid excess sun exposure
- Avoid waxing, bleaching, or tweezing
- Don’t consume alcohol the day before
- Avoid prolonged unprotected sun exposure causing burns
- Refrain from use of blood thinners
- Temporarily stop using anti-inflammatory medications (Motrin, Ibuprofen)
- Thoroughly hydrate yourself
When you arrive at your appointment, come with a clean face free of makeup or products. After your treatment, use plenty of moisturizer to hydrate your skin, drink a lot of water, avoid picking or scratching your skin, and avoid the sun and intense exercise for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
After your PRP facial rejuvenation, you may experience mild tenderness and discomfort, but it will not linger. For best results moving forward after your treatment, refrain from the following:
- Hot baths or saunas for 72 hours
- Showering in the first 24 hours
- Alcohol for the first week
- Consuming alcohol for the first week
